Packaging cost is not only the unit price of the box. For overseas buyers, box size and packed carton volume can change the landed cost. A box that looks cheap per unit may become expensive after freight is included.
Ask for packed carton dimensions and gross weight when comparing quotes, especially for rigid boxes, gift boxes and assembled packaging.
Why size matters
Shipping charges often consider both actual weight and volume. Paper packaging can be bulky even when it is not heavy. Rigid boxes and assembled gift boxes usually take more space than flat folding cartons.

Right-sizing helps reduce material waste, storage space and freight volume. Send product size and product weight before asking for a quote. If one box needs to fit several products, explain the size range so the structure can be planned.
