Candle packaging has one job before branding: protect the candle. Glass jars, ceramic vessels and multi-candle gift sets need a structure that controls movement during handling and shipping.

Inserts are often worth planning early
An insert keeps the candle from moving inside the box. It can also improve presentation when the customer opens the package. Paperboard inserts are useful when you want to reduce plastic. Foam or other insert materials may be discussed when stronger cushioning is needed.
The insert affects the box size, so confirm it before final artwork.
Retail box or shipping box?
A retail candle box does not always need to survive parcel delivery alone. If the candle is fragile, use a retail box inside a stronger outer shipping carton. For online brands, custom mailer boxes can work when the inner protection is planned carefully.
Keep seasonal projects realistic
Holiday candle packaging should be planned early. Seasonal artwork, gift sets, inserts and overseas shipping dates can add pressure if the design starts too late.
